How to remove and restore N-Gage games and demos
To get the most out of this tutorial, watch the video above and then read the text below.
How to remove N-Gage games temporarily
It's highly recommended that you install N-Gage games to your phone's memory card. Memory cards nowadays normally have many gigabytes of space, which is enough for hundreds of N-Gage games, so you probably won't ever have to remove an N-Gage game.
However, if for some reason you DO want to temporarily remove an N-Gage game to free up space, this method lets you do so without affecting your saved position in the game.
You can remove and restore N-Gage games as often as you want.
On your N-Gage compatible phone, go the "My Games" section of the N-Gage application, and highlight the game you want to remove temporarily. Click on Options, select Remove Game, then click on Remove. When the phone has finished removing the game, its icon will remain there, but it will be a transparent ghostly version of itself. The game is now removed from your phone so it isn't taking up space, but your saved position in the game is preserved.
How to restore N-Gage games
To restore an N-Gage game you've removed, just go to the Showroom section of the N-Gage app, click on Available Games, click on the game you want and download its trial version. Follow all the installation instructions.
When the trial version has finished downloading, it will automatically turn back into the full version, and the game's ghostly icon will become a solid icon again. Your game is restored.
Deleting Games vs Removing Games
If you've removed a game so that its icon turns ghostly, and then you click on the Options menu again, you will see a new option has appeared called Delete Game. Do NOT use this option unless you're absolutely sure you never want to play the game again, because it will delete all your saved data for that game.
If you do use this option and later want the game back, you can still get it back, but you will have to start playing it all over again.
To restore a deleted game, download its trial version from the showroom as described above. It will probably automatically turn into the full version, but if it doesn't you can click on the demo icon and choose the Activation Code option to turn it into the full game (every time you buy a game you are e-mailed an activation code which will always let you turn the demo into the full version).
How to delete and reinstall demos
There is no Remove option for demo N-Gage games, only Delete, so when you wipe demos you will always lose any saved game data. However, because demos are usually quite limited this doesn't really matter that much.
To delete a demo just highlight its icon in My Games, then select the Delete option.
To reinstall a demo, just go to the Showroom section and download it again like you did before.
